Adult Mission Trip to Oklahoma

The Presbyterian Project is a joint effort of the Glenshaw, Elfinwild, Parkwood, and Fox Chapel Presbyterian churches. In February, the group sponsored a mission trip to DuBois, PA, which was hit hard by flooding last June. Five members of GPC went on the February trip: Jane Hackett, Clarence Holden, Lynn Holden, Chuck Parker, and Deb Vita.

The Project has another mission trip opportunity coming up:

January 12-17, 2015 - Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City suburbs experienced tremendous loss of life and property from tornadoes that swept through the area in May 2013. EF4 and EF5 tornadoes swept a mile-wide path that extended for 17 miles. Volunteers will work on new construction homes and install in-ground storm shelters at existing homes.

Two options are available for the trip:

  • Driving - depart Sunday and return the following Sunday (17 hour total drive time). $200 per person includes 1 overnight each way, all meals and room accommodations.
  • Flying - $400 per person includes ticket and all meals and room accommodations.

These costs will be subsidized with mission trip funding by the Mission and Outreach Committee. The exact amount will depend on the number of participants.

Limited spots are available. To reserve your spot, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required.
